"Dyno" Dean Waltman # 70

Pit crew for Walt Calkins 1987-1989. Bought my first race car Dec. 1989. Began racing in 1990.

Career Highlights:

First quick time in my 6th race ever at Meridian Speedway. Crashed the first race of the 1991 season at the checkers, going for the win. Won my first race the next time out.

First points Championship in 1991, my first complete season of competition, topping 1990's champion Marv Weaver. Lapped the field at RaceCity USA at the season finale. Repeated as champion in 1992, with the points margin decided in the last main event of the year with Dan Sola.

Championship and Racing Highlights:

Drove the same USAC 360 Sprint in 2003, setting quick time the first time in the car. Raced 7 events, won one, and finished 4th overall in points despite missing three race dates. Returned to the ISRL in 2004, finishing 2nd by a handful of points in a wild, last race, last lap epic battle with Randy Sellars.

Won the Championship by a large margin in 2005. Crew chief for Patrick "PDQ" Quinn in 2006 during his first ISRL championship run, setting track records at Meridian Speedway and Magic Valley Speedway during the year.

Together with Patrick Quinn, put together a scratch-built car for the 2008 season. Set quick time first time in the car. Won my 5th Championship in 2009 in this, my current car. Lost count of main event wins. Probably 30-35 over the years. Countless quick times, heat race wins, and trophy dash wins.

Crew chief and co-owner of the # 2 Super Six Modified for Bob "The Hurricane" Bachman during his Championship run in 2000. Crew chief and partner for the # 4x Super Modified for Patrick "PDQ" Quinn during his Championship run in 2000. Crew for USAC Silver Crown/360 Sprint # 81 for several races, Patrick Quinn driver.

Crew chief and car owner for Travis "The Traveler" Burke for his first ISRL win and his 6th overall points finish in 2001. Crew chief and car owner for USAC 360 Sprint # 2 driven by Bob "The Hurricane" Bachman 2001-2 including his Bill Crow/ Bob and Tom Naylor Memorial Race win in 2002, and his 2nd place points finish.
